The idea for this doll was born last summer when Maggie Hamel was interning for me and helping create the dolls we gave to patients at Shriners Burn Center. Over the year while Maggie was in school and I was working, we both designed her details and then this summer, we worked together to make her set. She is the first, we will make more.

We wanted a doll to comfort a child fighting cancer. We wanted to make a doll that was comforting, fun to play with and dress and most importantly, that could share the journey with that child.

The doll and all of her clothing and accessories are finished, but she will not be complete until she finds a home. I live near Boston, a hub of medical institutions, but I'd thought I'd ask first to my readers: Do you know someone who needs this dolls? She is 16.5 inches big, light, soft and cuddly and below is the set of things she comes with.
